Nursery School
Park Terrace Nursery school was founded 30 years ago by Gail Zeller as a non-profit, outreach program within Park Terrace Community United Methodist Church in Apalachin, New York. Her vision was to have a quality preschool available to all at an affordable price. That vision came to fruition, and today Park Terrace is still an affordable, high quality preschool that has helped hundreds of children grow in all aspects of their lives.
It is the philosophy of Park Terrace Nursery School that young children learn most effectively when they have the opportunity to explore their environment and experience a variety of materials and situations. At the nursery school, we encourage hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity. Our curriculum promotes language development, as well as critical thinking and fine and large motor skills.
Children learn through play, so all of the learning activities are presented through play, based on age and individual appropriateness. These activities engage the children so they can explore, experiment, imitate, ask questions, and be questioned to further their thinking and problem-solving skills. These activities will also help them to experience success in all areas of development, learn how to socialize, develop communication skills, and prepare them for their next school environment.
